Introduction
October marked a month of focused groundwork and new momentum across the Hydra ecosystem. While operating within a lean framework, the team made strategic progress in media readiness, infrastructure improvements, and ecosystem development.
A major highlight was the launch of hyUSD, Hydra’s first yield-bearing stable asset, laying the foundation for sustainable DeFi flows. In parallel, the ecosystem continues to evolve — and a mysterious new project with a self-growing treasury mechanism was teased. Designed to harness the passive power of hyUSD and amplify it through on-chain community engagement, this initiative introduces a fresh dynamic to the Hydra economy. More details will follow as the full reveal approaches 🔥

🧭 Final Note
While October was a preparation-focused month, all essential relationships remain active and aligned. Hydra is well-positioned to move quickly and strategically as soon as campaign activity resumes.
X Awareness Booster
In order to better incentivise posting and starting raids, the X Awareness booster (accessible via Hanna Hydra) monthly participation reward now has a new points structure: Original posts now award 20 points each, while reposts/likes/bookmarks give 1, replies 2, and starting a raid 15. Share fresh posts or lead raids to climb faster.

🔧 2. Development Update
🔥 A new project is coming to Hydra — and it’s unlike anything you’ve seen.
The first project with a self-growing treasury mechanism is gearing up for launch. Powered by the yield-bearing $hyUSD token and amplified through on-chain community activity, this system is built to accumulate capital automatically as it grows. It’s more than just yield — it’s a fusion of passive income and community-driven acceleration. And that’s only the beginning. More details are coming soon as we approach the full reveal. 🚀 hyUSD Goes Live on Hydra — Unlocking Yield-Integrated Liquidity
Hydra has launched hyUSD, a synthetic, yield-generating stable asset now live on the Hydra Bridge, marking a major leap in decentralized finance. Backed 1:1 by sUSDe from Ethena Labs, hyUSD merges Hydra’s 0.5s finality Layer-1 speed with real yield from off-chain strategies — currently ~6.5% APR. hyUSD is a value-accruing wrapper that enhances capital efficiency by stacking DAO incentives with external yield. This creates “positive IL” in HYDRA/hyUSD pools and opens the door for ecosystem treasuries to turn idle reserves into compounding assets. A pilot DAO incentive program aims to bootstrap liquidity with just $2K/month, showcasing how efficient this model can be. Bridge now and experience Hydra’s DeFi evolution!
✅ Completed Dev Tasks
- Improve TheGraph VM firewall setup: Revised TheGraph VM firewall configuration to enhance security and harden access.
- Implement hyUSD swap page: Implemented a dedicated hyUSD swap page in the frontend to enable users to swap hyUSD.
- Fix “Charts and Stats” page on mainnet explorers: Restored functionality of the Charts and Stats page on mainnet explorers.
- Resolve stuck testnet subgraph: Unblocked syncing by deploying Subgraph V7 mapped to the V6 ID, restoring testnet indexing.
- Adding total amount of avaliable Lydras to FE: renamed Minted Lydras to Available Lydras in the Portfolio UI.
- INVALID_EPOCH error when claiming rewards if the validator was down in the expected maturation epoch: Addressed reward-claim failures by handling epochs where validators were down.
- Bootnodes feature to eliminate new validator dependency on core / specific nodes: Hydra Chain can now run independent from any core nodes.
🔧 Opened Dev Task — In Development
- Better feedback when the user has low balance and can’t send a tx: Improve UI feedback on low balance errors.
🤝 3. Business Development Update
The business development role filled by Stoyan was temporarily suspended due to community feedback, with a preliminary agreement with Stoyan to continue work on a performance basis if reactivated. Longer term, Hydra DAO plans to expand with multiple biz dev reps across hubs, but for now this focused trial already positions Hydra for strong integrations.
🗳️ 4. DAO Update
Total infrastructure and staffing expenditure for October 2025 (reflecting the working month of September) amounted to $17,094.36, a further reduction aligned with our ongoing cost-optimization strategy.
The infrastructure migration to the new provider is now 100% complete, marking a major milestone. This transition, which began in mid-August, is expected to yield long-term cost and performance efficiencies starting in the November financial cycle.
No marketing expenses were recorded for the month. HIP-16 grant payments totaling $3,000 have now been fully distributed across August to October as part of our phased funding schedule. Part of this funding is going toward the ongoing X Awareness Booster rewards.
In governance developments, HIP-19 was voted against in October 2025. At least one new proposal is anticipated for the November cycle, with potential for additional submissions.
Strategic Context: As a reminder, the DAO has been operating under a conservative strategy since August, aimed at preserving capital, minimizing sell-side pressure, and fostering organic market recovery. With infrastructure transitions now complete and grants steadily disbursed, the DAO is well-positioned for leaner operations and strategic agility going forward.

But always, remember❗️These are external initiatives, not official Hydra products. The Hydra DAO does not have a formal vetting or approval process for projects building on Hydra, and all information is provided as is. Please always do your own research (DYOR) 🙏
✅ 7. Looking Ahead
As Hydra enters the final stretch of 2025, the focus remains on cautious execution and ecosystem resilience. The completed infrastructure migration is expected to streamline costs and improve reliability. On the marketing front, pending budget allocation, plans remain in place to initiate a focused media campaign starting with CryptoSlate — designed to position Hydra as the definitive Layer 1 for sub-second finality and decentralization.
Meanwhile, the ecosystem continues to expand with both community-led projects and emerging experiments. Among them, a newly announced self-growing treasury initiative is preparing for launch — fusing hyUSD’s native yield with community-powered capital growth. This project could introduce a new category of economic engine for Hydra and is set to be revealed soon.
With DAO operations continuing under a disciplined framework, Hydra remains strategically positioned for sustainable growth. October’s steady foundation sets the tone for an impactful close to the year — and an even more dynamic 2026.
